Newborn Photography: Capturing the first days of life
During a newborn’s first few days, they still closely resemble what they looked like in-utero. Their eyes are most often closed, still somewhat puffy from the womb’s fluids; their fingers will curl reflexively; and, they usually are most comfortable in a curled fetal position. It’s a precious window of opportunity to capture them this way! It’s important to seize that window and photograph your newborn before their 8th-day of life when they begin to change very quickly. We suggest including the new mom and dad in the session as well.
We also offer our clients professional pregnancy photos, and many choose to do a maternity session in advance of a newborn session. Our Newborn Sessions generally take about 2 hours to photograph, sometimes less if the baby is a good sleeper.
